Meet Your New Neighbor: IV Wellness Arrives in Lemont

Try as you might, our lives get busy and it can be challenging to keep up with eating the right foods, getting enough movement, and balancing our daily responsibilities. We all want to take the right steps daily so that we can avoid trips to the doctor and live our best, most fulfilling lives.  If you’re hoping to incorporate more preventative medicine into your routine, we’re happy to announce IV Wellness Lemont.

Give your system a boost with targeted therapies to treat everything from immunity and hangovers to chronic migraines and weight loss. We sat down with Founder and Nurse Practitioner, Joanna Sturknieks, to learn about her business and welcome her to the neighborhood.

KG: Welcome to Lemont! Can you tell me a little bit about IV Wellness and how you got your start?

JS: I am a nurse practitioner; I currently work as a primary care provider. Although I prescribe antibiotics and other medications on a daily basis, I believe it is best to take care of our bodies in such a way as to prevent illness and other ailments. I have a passion for preventative care and healthy living healthy. I chose to open IV wellness to share my passion with others.

KG: It’s critical to take care of ourselves. We love to say that it takes a village and always encourage Lemonters to incorporate self-care into their lives here. How did you decide on Lemont for your first location?

JS: I love Lemont. I’ve lived here for about 6 years. I go to church here. I send my kids to school here. It has this wonderful energy in the community.

KG: It does! What would you say some of your favorite places in Lemont Downtown are?

JS: There are wonderful places here like Wooden Paddle, Three Stories Books, and The Creamery–which I’m right next to–I love to run over and get a special treat. As someone who enjoys staying active, I also love The Forge: Lemont Quarries. I love running, hiking, and kayaking, they have space to do all of that here.

KG: Yes, Lemont is perfect for you if you love the outdoors. How would you suggest someone incorporate IV Wellness into their wellness routine?

JS: We’ll start with a consultation no matter what. I’ll take your vitals and we’ll have a conversation about your goals. You may want to lose excess weight, get some more immunity with your kids starting back to school, heal faster from a sinus infection, or you’re recovering from a night of drinking after your bachelorette/bachelor party.

KG: Fascinating! I had no idea. Can groups book you as part of their bridal party or running groups recovering from the Quarryman Challenge?

JS: Yes! I’d love that. That’s exactly what IV infusions are good for. The IV catheter that we use is really small. It’s a 24 gauge – the same thing that we use on children. Folks are welcome to read a book, listen to music, or simply sit back and relax during their treatment. It usually takes about an hour.

KG: What’s the best IV to start with?

JS: It depends on your goals. The Myers Mix is popular because it’s kind of good for everything. It’s good for energy, it will boost your immunity, help you detox, etc. The Immunity Boost has a little more Vitamin C so that is always another good place to start and especially good when colds start going around.

KG: How can we book with you?

JS: We’re currently open by appointment only. You can book online at ivwellnesslemont.com or give us a call. If you’d like to bring a group in, definitely give us a call!

Book your session by appointment now to get your wellness boost. You can find IV Wellness Lemont at 315 E. Illinois in Lemont Downtown.
