Meet Your New Neighbor: Jaclyn Sue Boutique Brings Style to Lemont Downtown
Located on the corner of Main and Stephen St, Jaclyn Sue Boutique is a women-owned fashion forward shop in the heart of Lemont Downtown. We spoke with Jaclyn Sue to discover about what inspired her to open a boutique in Lemont, fashion trends for the year ahead, and the love she has for the Lemont community.
AM: Tell me about Jaclyn Sue Boutique. What inspired you to open in Lemont?
JS: I created Jaclyn Sue right after COVID because owning a fashion store, as I liked to call it when I was younger, was a lifelong dream of mine. I have always had a passion and eye for style and fashion. Opening in Lemont was sort of on a whim. I knew I wanted to be based in a quaint town with a downtown area, and Lemont Downtown met my expectations of where my first store would be a great fit.
AM: Could you tell me about what inspires your seasonal merchandise selections?
JS: Seasonal merchandise is really inspired by two things: eye-catching pieces and the collections I create for the upcoming seasons. The fashion pieces you find at Jaclyn Sue are intentionally hand-picked by me.
AM: What are a few style trends you're predicting for this year?
JS: Our style predictions for this year are a lot of bold colors with mixing of prints. Lots of polka dots and shades of blue and green for spring and summer.
AM: Looking at the year ahead, do you have any special events or curations you'd like to share with us?
JS: The Jaclyn Sue Boutique 5 year anniversary party is being held at my store on May 9th. We’ll be celebrating all day long, with local and women owned businesses and vendors throughout the day. I also do my best to host one ladies night a month, so keep up with us on socials as I always post those details.
AM: What's your favorite thing about Lemont?
JS: My absolute favorite thing about Lemont is the people! For sure and without a doubt, the people! Everyone here has made me feel right at home and for that I am truly grateful.
