Make a New Friend: Heroes West Opens Location in LEmont Uptown

Whether you’re from a big city or a small town, it’s always nice to go where someone knows your name. Heroes West has been a staple in Joliet, Illinois for over a decade with a customer base that has been gathering and celebrating at their location for generations, and we’re so excited to welcome them to Lemont.

We sat down with Chef Joe to discuss the opening of the new location in Lemont Uptown this summer and what we can expect in the months to come.

KG: So tell us about Heroes West Lemont!

CJ: Heroe’s West is your new favorite place to hang out on any night of the week. We have over 25,000 SQF of space full of bowling, pool tables, a stage, an entertainment area, and a full-service restaurant with a patio. Our kitchen makes everything from scratch using ingredients that are as locally sourced as possible producing high-quality foods that have had the same beloved recipes for over 15 years.

KG: That sounds fantastic! What’s your favorite thing on the menu?

CJ: That’s a hard one! This is the place where you’ll find your next favorite dish. We’re really proud whenever someone comes back and says, “I’ve been thinking about those wings for weeks!” I love our boneless wings that use dark meat of the chicken so they’re extra juicy and seasoned to perfection. I also love our pork chops, burgers, and fresh fish flown in from Alaska.

KG: What’s kept you in business all of these years?

CJ: I really think it’s having a welcoming and clean environment where people can have fun and customer service. You’re a guest in our house when you’re here. I love celebrating a baby’s birthday and then what seems like a few days later, celebrating their high school graduation or prom. You can grow up with us.

KG: That’s so special! There aren’t many places like that in life. What is your favorite place in Lemont?

CJ: You know, there are so many great shops and restaurants but I have to say Lemont High School. My son graduated from LHS in 2020 and I’m just super proud of him. It was a wonderful experience. If I had to pick another, it’d be Petr’s Deli on State St. They have super authentic European food and I love stopping by for a sandwich. No matter where I’m at, it’s all about the people I’m with.

KG: We really are a small-knit community. Has Heroes West become a place for people to gather?

CJ: It has! On Tuesdays, we offer a Senior Menu for 25% Off Dine-In Only. On Wednesdays, we host Warrior Wing Night where our wings are 70 cents. 10 cents of that is donated to the Fisher House Foundation which offers comfortable housing to the military families when their loved ones are receiving care at the VA or any Military Medical Center. In addition to hosting events and weddings throughout the year, we also host fundraising events for local non-profits and schools like our spring Shave for St. Baldricks.

KG: I love that you’re paying it forward. What else do the people need to know?

CJ: We’re really excited to welcome everyone into this new location and make them part of our Heroes West Family. Come have dinner with us and play a few games!

KG: Count us in!
