Quarryman 5K & 10-Mile Challenge

Rise and shine, Lemont! Kick off your weekend with the annual Quarryman 5K and 10-Mile Challenge. This beloved race pays homage to our town's historic limestone quarries with a challenging course that takes participants through some of Lemont's most scenic areas.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to enjoy a morning stroll through our beautiful downtown, the Quarryman Challenge offers something for everyone.
The 10-Mile kicks off at 7:30 AM, and the 5K starts at 7:35 AM. Don't forget to stay for the post-race celebration at Pollyanna Brewing, featuring local vendors and refreshments!

Chicago River Day

Roll up your sleeves and join us for a morning of volunteering right here in Lemont Downtown. Saturday, May 9 is the the annual Chicago River Day Clean Up.
Neighbors and volunteers will meet at Centennial Trail and Canal Bank Road to build community around our waterway, remote litter, and take collective action towards a Litter Free Chicago-Calumet River System.
Lemont Garden Club Plant Sale

April showers bring May flowers! The Lemont Garden Club is prepping for its annual plant sale. Shop their sale for everything you need to get started this season – perennials, bulbs, veggies, natives, hostas, and gently used items. Plus new this year, tulips and daffodils planted and grown by our members, perfect for Mother’s Day giving.
World Migratory Bird Day

Every day is Bird Day. What makes Mother’s Day weekend all the more unique is that May 9 is also World Migratory Bird Day!
Pick up your binoculars, grab your bird guide, and step outside to see which birds you cross paths with. Listen actively for bird songs and you might spot an oriole, indigo bunting, or a heron.
Hot Tip: Head over to the Lemont Quarries or bird watch near tall oak trees. These are excellent locations for birding.
