Meet Your New Neighbor: Brow Lounge Opens in Lemont Downtown

There’s something special about Lemont Downtown. A place where character, charm, and community come together. It’s where historic streets meet new ideas, and where neighbors gather to shop or dine, connect, recharge, and take care of themselves in meaningful ways.

That’s exactly what Brow Lounge is here to offer: a boutique experience that’s warm, welcoming, and built on over two decades of eyebrow expertise. From curated brow shaping to plant-based skincare and organic beauty treatments, Brow Lounge is helping people feel confident in their skin—starting with the perfect brow.

In an honored tradition in Lemont Downtown, we sat down with co-founder Tracy Gomez to learn more about Brow Lounge and what makes this business such a special addition to the neighborhood.

TF: First off—welcome to Lemont Downtown! Can you give us a quick overview of Brow Lounge?

TG: Thank you! We’re so excited to be here. Brow Lounge is a specialty boutique focused on eyebrow sculpting and holistic skincare. Our approach is really detailed—we map your brows to find the best shape for your face, and we guide you through the process over time. A lot of people are over-tweezed or just haven’t been shown how to grow their brows into the shape that works best for them. We’re here to help you get there, step-by-step, and to educate along the way.

Most salons offer a quick clean-up, but we’re taking a tailored, holistic approach. It’s about creating shape, balance, and helping you feel confident and beautiful—naturally.

TF: Tell us more about your background. How did you get started in this line of work?

TG: My cofounder and I actually moved to L.A. about 20 years ago chasing the Hollywood dream. I was a makeup artist, she was a hairstylist, and we were working on photo shoots and TV sets when we got introduced to Anastasia Beverly Hills. A friend of ours connected us, and in 2001, Anastasia asked us to open her Chicago store.

We were proud to help introduce eyebrow shaping to the Midwest, and our store became the top-performing location in the country. After years of learning and growing, we decided it was time to take everything we’d learned and start something of our own. That’s how Brow Lounge was born. We opened our first location in Frankfort in 2011, and now we’re so proud to be expanding to Lemont.

TF: Anastasia herself taught you, how incredible! Why Lemont? What drew you here for your second location?

TG: Lemont has always felt like a second home to me. I have family here and have been visiting for 25 years. I’ve always loved the small-town feel, the history, the downtown vibe—it just has that charm. For years, I’ve said, if we ever expand, it has to be Lemont.

We love the character here. Places like Rosebud, Wooden Paddle, and Mabel’s Market have always been favorites. So when the space at 206 Stephen Street became available, we knew it was the perfect time and place to join this incredible community.

TF: What kinds of services can people find at Brow Lounge?

TG: We start with brow sculpting—it’s our specialty and what we’re best known for. We also offer brow tinting and staining for those who want a bolder look or have lighter brows.

Beyond brows, we do lash lifts, lash extensions, lash tinting, makeup for special occasions, and organic spray tans. Our open-concept spa, Skin Apothecaries, lets clients create a custom facial experience. We focus on plant-based, farm-to-skin products and gentle peels with no downtime. Our skincare philosophy is holistic—it’s all about understanding your skin from the ground up. And yes, we also offer skincare that supports brow growth!

TF: What’s the customer experience like when someone walks through your doors?

TG: Our goal is to make people feel like they’re walking into a home, not a salon. It’s cozy, calm, and welcoming. You won’t see standard stations—we use dressers, beds, and curated furniture to create a nurturing space. The environment is fun, relaxed, and personal—kind of like therapy mixed with beauty!

We also focus heavily on education. We want you to leave not just looking amazing, but knowing how to care for your brows and skin on your own. That’s something you carry with you.

TF: How are you hoping to get involved in the Lemont community?

TG: Community is everything to us. We’ve already started building relationships—we had a fantastic Grand Opening where other local business owners came to show support. We’re looking forward to collaborations, ladies’ nights, events like the Beauty Walk and Wine Walk, and more.

We really want to be active participants in Lemont. Whether it’s teaming up with other businesses, supporting local causes, or simply creating a space where people can come together, we’re here for it all.

TF: What’s your vision for the next year?

TG: Right now, the focus is getting the word out and helping people understand what makes us different. We want to be the go-to destination for brow care and holistic beauty, and we’re also bringing more education into the space. Whether that’s through workshops, events, or one-on-one sessions, we’re passionate about helping people understand their own beauty and how to take care of it.

TF: What’s the best way for people to stay connected with you?

TG: Follow us on Instagram and Facebook @browloungelmt and visit our website browloungelmt.com. You can book appointments online and sign up for monthly updates there, too.
