Kids Who Make: Young Entrepreneurs market in Lemont Downtown

Some kids spend their summers playing video games and lounging by the pool. A few kids have chosen to spend their free time honing their craft, launching small businesses, and bringing their creations to market.

After years of demand from mini moguls excited to make their debut at popular events like Market on Canal, Sommer Steele of Mabel’s Market and Three Stories is excited to introduce Kids Who Make: A Junior Maker’s Market to Lemont Downtown. Join us on Sunday, August 7th from 12-4 PM, where you’ll find over 30 businesses run by kids throughout your Lemont Downtown favorite shops.

You’ll find 3D-printed toys, bookmarks, slime, dog bandanas, potholders, hair accessories, jewelry, and many more household goods and fun accessories all while supporting a kid’s business venture. Although they may be young, all participants in the Kids Who Make Market must learn how to name and brand their business, register the business legally and set up a method for payment, and find all of the supplies they need to make their products and package items for sale.

Since this is a market full of young entrepreneurs, bring down your young customers!

This is the perfect event to bring your kids, give them a budget or encourage the use of their allowance, and help them purchase items to accessorize their back-to-school outfits or entertain themselves in the last weeks of summer. Make a reservation at your favorite Lemont Downtown spot and have dinner afterward.

Come support these young creatives during Kids Who Make! Stop by Three Stories or Mabel’s Market on Sunday from 12-4 PM to get a map of the market. Find more details and get a sneak peek at the participants by following Lemont Downtown on Instagram and Facebook.
